Chatsworth Students Combine History, Cooking and Sharing for the Holidays

by Judy Silberstein

(November 24, 2002 ) History, holidays, and cooking make a delicious combination at Chatsworth school where the students have been learning about the Native Americans and the crops they grew and shared with the Pilgrims. Last Friday, November 22, third grade teacher Marsha Charney, her students and a number of parent volunteers measured, poured, stirred, sniffed, filled, and otherwise prepared holiday baked goods. Like the Native Americans in Pilgrim days, the class will be sharing what they've baked. The muffins and breads are going to the local Food Pantry on Tuesday, November 26, in time for Thanksgiving.
