 | (October
5, 2002) They came from as far away as California,
North Carolina and Illinois to reunite with their
Mamaroneck High School mates for the weekend.
They partied, they toured, they cheered on the
football team. Like the high school students they
once were, they dined al fresco at Walters or
around the gazebo. The '82's went off campus for
a barbeque at Flint Park. Like the parents and
grandparents they now are, they shared photos
of the kids and the grandkids. Some brought the
actual kids. While her father was attending the
class of '52 events, Karen MacDonald DeSantis
was at the '82 festivities with 7 week-old twins
Jenny and Kyle. Another second generation alum,
Phil Johanson '82, appeared with an entire family
of MHS alums and future alums: wife Lucy ('82)
and Timothy (on track for '07).
The class of '52, '62, '72 and '82 coincidentally
picked the same date for their reunion weekends
and were able to piggyback on each other's activities.
Some families had representatives at more than
one reunion: Rick Baumblatt was with the '82 while
his mom was at the '62. MHS teacher Don Phillips,
who has been with the school for 43 years, led
tours for all classes through a high school that
has seen multiple changes since even the youngest
returnees were last students there.
The photos below are only a fraction of what
was snapped over the weekend. If you've got some
shots or some vignettes you'd like to share, contact
us at Larchmont
Gazette and we'll add them to the
album.
